HELLO,
welcome to my online portfolio.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my professional website. I have been an advocate for youth development and equitable education for more than thirty years,
My experiences in education are broad. I have been responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (traditional and online), admissions, academic advising, community outreach, directing an Upward Bound program, student activities, programming, campus climate assessment, and setting campus policy on diversity and civility. I have managed personnel, office budgets, and strategic plans. I have also taught 5th - 8th graders math and science at a private urban school serving students identified as "at-risk."
Throughout my career, I have been a leader in resolving conflicts with discretion, assessing campus climate, developing and implementing services, programs, and policies, and building collaborative relationships with community stakeholders.
My expertise and advocacy are preparing students for college and facilitating students to access and achieve academic success. I have done so by effectively using social emotional learning (SEL) and restorative strategies; using identity development to facilitate academic achievement; advocating for equity, diversity & inclusion while being a trauma-informed and healing-centered practitioner.

TESTIMONIAL
"I especially appreciated what you had to say about education as being a part of the development of the whole person.... I know that response to what you had to say was outstanding, based on the comments of the kids; they said they felt you were talking to each of them individually - quite a feat to accomplish!"

"There is no mystery to how to teach them ... First thing is treat them like human beings. Second, love them." Dr. Asa Hilliard III
"If I am not the person you say that I am, then you are not the person you think that you are." James Baldwin
